After months of disruption, Port Erin can get back to business again.

Station Road had been closed to traffic since February as part of the village’s regeneration scheme.

It had a severe impact on traders with toy and gifts shop Mantons claiming takings were down 70 per cent on what they would expect.

But yesterday Station Road was opened again, with the regeneration scheme finished as promised in time for TT.

The railway station has been remodelled with a new canopy, and the whole area has smart new paving, street furniture and lighting.

Underground services have also been renewed.
