Three more top bands have been added to an already busy season of entertainment at the Villa Marina for later this year.

The legendary Scottish duo The Proclaimers are to perform on the Royal Hall stage at the Villa Marina on Wednesday, August 22.

They follow on from the UK Indie pop favourites Dodgy, who are set to appear at the Promenade Suite on Friday August 10.

Both groups need little introduction, and they have both performed on the island many times.

And Feeder have just been confirmed to appear on August 24.

The Proclaimers, featuring the twin brothers Charlie and Craig Reid, last appeared on the Villa Marina stage in 2007.

The duo, who have been performing together for more than 30 years, scored huge hits in the late 80s with the anthemic singles ’Letter From America’ and ’I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’, and have just announced details of a lengthy UK and Ireland-wide tour, beginning in July and finishing in December.

The brothers also plan to record an as-yet untitled album during the spring, and will release it on August 10, just in time for their Manx date.

Their last album, ’Let’s Hear It For The Dogs’ was released in 2015, reaching number 26 in the album charts and led to the duo making high-profile appearances at some of Europe’s biggest festivals, such as Glastonbury, T In The Park, the Cambridge Folk Festival and the V Festivals.

They followed that up with a world tour in 2016.

Tickets for the Proclaimers are priced at £28.

Britpop indie band Dodgy appeared on the island last year, where they played a stunning live set at the Deep South Festival, alongside a host of local bands.

Their songs ’Staying Out For The Summer’ and ’So Let Me Go Far’ are often included amongst the list of definitive 90s anthems.

The group already have an extensive list of festival dates planned throughout the UK during the summer, and are touring in support of their latest album, ’What Are We Fighting For?’, which was released in 2016.

Tickets for the Dodgy concert are £18.

They join the long list of top acts to appear at the Villa this year, which also includes Gary Barlow, James Blunt, Heather Small, Gary Numan, The Human League and Space.

Tickets for both dates go on sale tomorrow (Friday), and are available from the Villa Marina Box office, the Welcome Centre, or online from villagaiety.com
