One of Port Erin’s promenade cafes is downscaling and has applied for permission to convert back to a tourist/residential accommodation building with an ice cream serving window.
Formerly known as Cafe Delicious on Shore Road, an accompanying planning statement explained that even before the pandemic, it had seen a downturn in business as more and more competing eateries opened in Port Erin.
In addition to the pandemic, it also cited a ’general decline in island tourism’.
It would be open during the season from 10am-7pm, seven days a week.
