Ramsey residents are being urged to put up a sign in their window to let neighbours know if they are okay or need help during the coronavirus crisis.

The town’s Commissioners have written to every household to provide an update on the services they provide and some contact information during current Covid-19 pandemic.

On the reverse of the letter are signs that can be displayed in your window - a green one which says ’Doing Fine’ and a red one which says ’Help Needed’.

The letter states: ’Please fold the page in half and display the sign which is relevant to you where it can be seen by neighbours.

’If you see a red sign displayed please contact the town hall or, if not available, the coronavirus information line.’

The town hall and library are now closed to the public but the authority is continuing to provide essential and emergency services and its phones are manned during normal working hours.

Householders are being asked to help bin crews work safely by leaving your wheelie bins out by 6am on the normal collection day with the lid firmly closed and with handles regularly sanitised before and after collection.

A list of companies and organisations providing food and grocery delivery services can be found on the town hall’s website site at www.ramsey.gov.im

The letter also includes a warning about Covid scammers. It says: ’Please be aware that there are reports of telephone scam callers purporting to be calling as banks or the police.’

Ramsey Town Commissioners will keep its website and social media channels updated. Those who do not have access to the internet can contact the Commissioners by telephone on 810100 during normal office hours.
