The latest performance for the Ramsey Music Society is set to be a unique and mind-boggling experience.
Combining the talents of two talented and highly-regarded classical musicians, Duo b!z’art feature the Belgian pianists André Roe and Geoffrey Baptiste, who perform together on the same piano, at the same time.
They happily admit that their act is bizarre, unusual and unconventional, especially in the world of classical and chamber music, and they have forged a reputation of creating a thrilling and dynamic musical show.
According to their own description of their performance, they say that combined, they bring four hands and 20 fingers to play the 88 keys on a piano, which creates a very unique repertoire flowing from their own take on salon music through to creating a more symphonic sounds, almost imitating an entire orchestra.
They typically include serious takes on classical music with some more light-hearted musical moments.
Amongst the classical set, they will be performing a suite from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.
Their concerts revolve around waltzes, tangos and similar dances, through to shows influenced by their musical tastes, ranging from romantic to 20th century music.
The duo, who formed in 2004, have played concerts all over the world, regularly performing and touring across Europe, through Scandinavia, the British Isles, the Baltic Republics, Croatia, Slovenia, and also toured in China during November 2017.
Duo b!z’art appear at Ramsey Grammar School on Monday, November 12, from 7.30pm.
Tickets are £12, available on the door, with children and students free.
The next concert for the Ramsey Music Society will feature local composer and organist David Kilgallon, who will perform ’Chronicles’, alongside Russell Gilmour, on Friday, December 28.
