Port Erin Commissioners have announced that they have received reports of several dead herring gulls on the beach between the Cosy Nook and the Shore Road public toilets area of the beach.

They have contacted the Department of Environment of Food and Agriculture.

The news comes after it was announced that some domestic geese in Sulby were suffering from bird flu.

The UK is currently facing its largest ever outbreak, which has led to thousands of farmed birds being culled since November.
