Derbyhaven Road in Castletown has now reopened after fire crews and police dealt with a ‘chemical incident’ at the Isle of Man Airport.
Contractors working on a runway drainage project on Friday morning ‘disturbed’ buried items which require further investigation, and the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service attended to ensure the area was safe.
A road closure was in place for several hours at Derbyhaven as a ‘precautionary measure’, and for the safety of the crews on scene.
