Police have advised people not to travel this evening as snow begins to stick at lower levels around the island.

A force spokesperson said at 7.30pm: 'The snow is now starting to stick on lower levels across the island.

'Please do not travel unless your journey is essential.'The following roads are now closed:

Buses are also no longer servicing Birch Hill and Willaston.
