Rushen and Western Mann Rotary Club has donated £1,000 each to two charities.
It has donated money to Hospice Isle of Man and the Isle of Man Foodbank’s southern hub.
The club is also still supporting Rotary’s international causes including ’Polio Plus’.
The club’s president, John Lindon, said: ’During lockdown our Rotary members have not been able to attend our weekly fellowship meetings so with the money we have personally been saving, members decided to donate this money to support local worthy causes.’

’We are currently supporting 27 families in the south, and every week are having to buy food and cleaning materials to supplement what is donated.’
The donation to Hospice Isle of Man will be used to fund ’back home boxes’ as part of the Compassionate Isle of Man initiative.
The boxes of essential food supplies are given to everyone who is returning home after spending at least 72 hours in hospital and who lives alone.
