A Manx born rugby player has raised nearly £500 for Manx Breast Cancer Support.

Bevan Rodd, who plays for Sale Sharks U18 and England U18, raised the money through a talk he gave to coaches and players and by selling his match day warm up England jacket.

Bevan, who is only 17, was due to give a talk in the island when he decided to ask those who attended to put some money into a collection.

This was then increased by the sale of his England jacket with £480 raised in total.

Julie Stokes, chairman of Manx Breast Cancer Support, said: ’Bevan is such a nice guy, we’re really happy with the money he raised.

’When we have a our Isle of Woman campaign in October, he says he’s going to support us by going pink and encouraging his friends across to do so too.’
