Islanders are being invited to join in with a virtual 5km walk or run held this weekend in memory of Irish teacher Ashling Murphy.
The 23-year-old primary school teacher from Tullamore in County Offaly was attacked and murdered last week while out for a run.
Her friends have organised a virtual 5km walk/ run at 4pm on Sunday, January 23.
Members of Vagabonds Rugby Club’s women’s team are showing their support and will joining together to undertake a run/walk on Sunday. They will be starting at the Sea Terminal on Douglas Promenade and are inviting others to join them.
All funds raised from the run will go directly to Irish domestic violence charity Women’s Aid.
