Samaritans Isle of Man is inviting potential volunteers to attend an information session later this month.
Volunteers are there to ensure there is help available when someone is in crisis, and are contactable by telephone, email, text and face-to-face 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The next information session will take place on Thursday, February 15, at 7pm at 5 Victoria Place, Douglas, ahead of the selection day on February 24.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about Samaritans, and what it takes to volunteer, should contact the local branch and join current volunteers at the information session.
Sinead Nudd, Samaritans recruitment deputy, said: ’Everyone in the branch is a volunteer.
’The aim of our information sessions is to give those interested in volunteering an insight into the work we carry out, and the impact it can have on people’s lives.
’To be a Samaritan we simply ask that you can offer support to people who need it. You don’t need any specific experience or qualifications, and you receive thorough training before you go on duty so that no one feels overwhelmed.
’If you want to find out more but can’t attend the information session, please send us an email or pop into the branch.’
