A local environmental and global charity is to hold a screening of a sequel to a ground-breaking film next week.
The One World Centre will show the film ’An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power’, at a special screening on Tuesday, October 22, at the Ballakermeen Studio Theatre in Douglas.
The film follows on from where its predecessor, ’An Inconvenient Truth’, left off, with the former vice-president of the USA, Al Gore, further exploring the on-going perils of climate change and his quest to raise awareness and inspire a new generation of problem-solvers.
One World Centre coordinator Wendy Shimmin said: ’With the declaration on the Isle of Man of a climate emergency earlier in the year, and the formation by Government of a climate change emergency transition team, it seems an appropriate opportunity to provide the public with more information about the issues we all face and how they can be tackled.’
The screening starts at 7.30pm and is free to attend, although tickets must be booked in advance. More details are available from oneworldcentreiom.org.
