A section of the heritage trail on the old railway between Douglas and Peel will be closed this weekend.

The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed that ongoing work has discovered a deteriorating culvert, which poses a danger to the public.

As a result, the section between Curragh Road, St John’s, and Kerrowgarrow, Greeba, will be shut for the weekend and Monday while the contractor carries out remedial work.

Assuming the work goes to schedule, the route will be open to the public outside working hours from Tuesday.

Site working hours are 8am-5.30pm Monday to Friday and 8am-2pm on Saturday.
