A service for people who have been affected by a miscarriage, still birth of any form of baby loss is to take place soon after Christmas.

It will be led by Reverend Freer and called a STAR service (Still Treasured, Always Remembered).

The loss does not have to be recent, everyone is welcome.

This service has been the idea of the Jane Crookall Maternity Unit staff and organised midwives Bryony Manning and Dianne Ruberry, who are both involved in running the bereavement service at the Jane.

Folk singer Ruth Keggin will be performing and there will be some poems and readings along with a few carols.

This service shouldn’t be longer than 45 minitues to and hour.

There will be refreshments after the service.

The aim of this service is to create a space for anyone affected by baby loss to come and remember them at Christmas.

It will take place at the hospital chapel on December 28 at 2pm.
