There’s an event at Shoprite on Saturday, October 28 to raise funds for a toddler waiting for a heart transplant.
Ella Wiseman, who is two in December, is on life support at Freeman hospital in Newcastle until a suitable heart is found, which could take several months.
She has been there since June supported by her parents Amy Ash and TJ Wiseman.
Other members of the family, including grandmothers Sandra Ash and Lisa Harrison, said it’s too expensive to make regular trips to Newcastle, and they set up a Facebook page (’go fund me Ella Wiseman’) for people to donate funds to help with travel costs.
They want to reunite the family in Newcastle to celebrate Ella’s second birthday on December 26.
They’d like to give her party a Mr Tumble theme because the programme - aimed at helping children with communication problems - has helped her to use sign language, as a tracheotomy prohibits speech
The Shoprite store in Victoria Street, Douglas, where Sandra works, are holding the Hop Tu Naa themed event to boost funds.
There is face painting and apple bobbing, find the witch’s hat.
The competitions and raffle tickets will be for sale all week starting Monday, October 23.
