Sidecar superstars John Holden and Lee Cain have made a surprise visit to the Family Library in Douglas.
The duo, who took two runner-up spots in last year’s sidecar races, chatted to fans and signed photographs of them in action around the Mountain Course.
Holden and Manxman Cain, who compete for the Silicone Barnes Racing team, were clearly impressed with the facilities at the library.
’This is clearly a busy place and it’s been great to come along and meet the children and staff,’ said Holden.
’We wouldn’t be able to race but for the fans and marshals so it’s important to give something back to the Manx community. We feel very privileged to ride around here. We always get well looked after and are looking forward to race week.’
Staff presented them with library goodie bags before they headed back to the Grandstand.
Family Library executive director Laura Jones added: ’It was great to meet John and Lee and for them to show such an interest and talk to the children. They were also impressed with our wide selection of TT books and memorabilia.
’It’s certainly got us revved-up for TT and we wish them every success in the races.’
