Two singing workshops to learn how to sing a range of traditional and contemporary Christmas songs in the Manx language will take place in the west of the island, under the guidance of singer Ruth Keggin-Gell (pictured above).

The first workshop takes place on Tuesday at 9.15am at the Culture Vannin office in St John’s, followed by a further workshop at the House of Manannan, in Peel, on Sunday, December 6, from 2pm.

’We’ll be learning a mixture of traditional and contemporary Christmas songs in Manx,’ said Ruth.

’Both workshops will focus on different songs, so if you were to attend both classes, you’d be able to access a whole range of Manx festive songs.

’Everyone is warmly welcome to these inclusive, festive, friendly workshops, whether you’ve never spoken a word of Manx, or are a confident conversationalist.’

Both workshops are free to attend, although there are limited places and so booking is essential.
