The Mountain Road is currently closed because of snowfall.

Police say that "deteriorating weather conditions" meant they had to shut the road between Ramsey and the Creg-Ny-Baa.

There has been considerable snowfall overnight.

Rain today will be persistent and heavy at times, and turning to sleet or snow mainly over higher ground, giving some accumulations and some localized flooding. Strong north-easterly winds and temperatures only rising up to 6 or 7°C.

Outlook

The rain will turn to showers overnight into Thursday, and these will gradually die away during the morning, leaving the afternoon dry with bright and sunny intervals breaking through. Still breezy with a fresh to strong northeast wind and top temperature of 9°C.

Dry and bright for Friday, with sunny intervals and light easterly winds becoming variable, top temperatures up to 9°C.
