Snow is falling on the mountain.

But the road remains open, the police say.

A tweet reads: ’Heavy snow falling on the mountain between Brandywell and the Mountain Mile. The driving conditions will be continually assessed throughout the day but the road has been gritted and at present will remain OPEN.’

The Beinney Phott Road between its junctions with Brandywell Cottage and the A18 Mountain Road was closed due to adverse weather conditions.
