Miss Isle of Man contestant Niamh Murdoch is raising funds for Age Concern - Isle of Man.

Niamh is 18 years old and a pupil at Ramsey Grammar School.

Contestants have to organise events to help charities.

Niamh organised an event -’Songs from the Shows’ - held at the Youth Arts Centre, Kensington Road, Douglas.

Robert Loudon-Brown, honorary secretary for Age Concern, said: ’It is great to come across a young person with such personality and commitment to raising funds for a very worthy cause.

’All the generations are dependent on each other and this is a great example of inter-generational co-operation and initiative.

’We wish Niamh every success in the forthcoming Miss Isle of Man competition.’
