The Southern Photographic Society’s new season this week and the club is looking for new members.

An introductory evening takes place on Wednesday, September 9, at Colby Football Club’s clubhouse, at 8pm.

The society meets every other Wednesday from September to May.

Throughout the season the group runs optional monthly competitions for members and practical sessions, the most recent one involving a trip to the Calf of Man.

Meanwhile, a permanent exhibition of the society’s images is on display upstairs at Noble’s Hospital with a share of the proceeds going to the patients’ comfort fund.

All abilities are welcome to the society and newcomers do not need an expensive camera to join.

There is a charge of £2 for admission, which goes towards room hire and refreshments.
