The Isle of Man Special OIympics team is currently in Austria competing in the Winter World Games.

The team travelled to the Dachstein Mountains earlier this week to take part in the Games which began on Tuesday and continue until Saturday, March 25.

The Isle of Man has been allocated places for a floorball team (eight players, plus one reserve) and a snow shoe running team (four plus one reserve).

The floorball team, coached by Mick Curran assisted by Haresh Measuria, consists of David Hudson Jr (goalkeeper), Duncan Watterson, Lawrence Dyer, Tom Hall, Owen Langton, Ben Mowle, Jason Fox (GK) and lone female Chelsea Scott, with Mark Henry as reserve.

Under the guidance of coach Barry Dulson and assistant Tina Kelly, the snow shoe team is made up of Paul Clucas, Sean Roberts, Nicola Woodridge and Laura Oram, with reserve Rebecca Maller.

The floor ball team is based in Graz, the capital city of the southern Austrian province of Styria, while the snow shoe competitors will be located in Rohrmoos, Schladming.

The team director and delegate is Beryl Woodridge who will be assisted during the trip to Austria by Janet Norbury,
