The work on the southern side of the road at St Trinian's near Crosby has been extended due to complications.

Originally, it had been estimated that all works would have been completed by the end of this year but due to issues with the installation of a piped system and the inclusion of pavement works, this means the project is being completed late.

The drainage pipe and gullies currently being installed allowed the work area to be reduced and the contractor has brought the traffic lights closer together, reducing waiting times.

Work will carry on at this site until December 23 when operations will be paused and the traffic lights will be taken away.

It will resume on January 4 and the lights will be reinstated.

The contractor estimates that works will be completed by January 19, according to the Department of Infrastructure.

Work in the new year will include the installation of further drainage on the main road, at the eastern side of Cooilingel lane, and at the head of the lane. The west bound lane will then be fully resurfaced.
