The Post Office has released six stamps in celebration of the Queen’s 95th birthday on April 21.

The stamps will ’showcase key aspects of Her Majesty’s long reign since her accession in 1952 and pay tribute to HRH Prince Philip’ in what the post office is describing as a ’landmark’ issue.

The issue text has been provided by author and TV personality Lady Colin Campbell (well known for her stint on the show ’I’m a Celebrity...Get me out of Here’), and it is titled ’Devoted to your service’ after a quote from the Queen during her first overseas tour in 1947.

Addressing the Commonwealth from South Africa on her 21st birthday, the Queen said: ’I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.’

Lady Campbell described the set as aiming to ’mark a few of the many highpoints’ of the Queen’s life.

In addition to the stamp set there will be a joint sheetlet available which is produced in collaboration with ten other Commonwealth postal administrations: Ascension Islands, Bahamas, British Antarctic Territory, British Virgin Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands and Tristan Da Cunha.

Each individual stamp collection by each of the eleven postal administrations has been created by expert stamp designer Andrew Robinson.

The Post Office said that the ’historic and postally unique’ joint sheetlet [with a print run of 5,000] unites the individual stamp collections from all eleven Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories by displaying one single stamp of each postal administration.

The sheetlet will be available to pre-order on Commonwealth Day, which this year will be celebrated on March 8.

Maxine Cannon, general manager of Isle of Man Stamps and Coins, said: ’We are very pleased to present this wonderful stamp issue in tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Lord of Mann.

’She really has devoted her life to the service of her people both here on our island and around the Commonwealth. ’Furthermore, we are honoured to be able to congratulate Her Majesty on her upcoming 95th Birthday alongside ten fellow postal administrations.

’It’s our way of recognising and celebrating the values we all share through our common association with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

’We also would like to thank Lady Colin Campbell and Andrew Robinson for their support in the creation of this captivating stamp issue.’

The ’Devoted To Your Service’ collection is available as a set and sheet Set, presentation pack and first day cover.
