The Post Office has released stamps to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the UEFA Euro football tournament.
Using the tournament’s official artwork, the set of eight stamps are a licensed product which depict the stadiums and landmarks of some of the host cities, including London, Glasgow, Munich, Copenhagen, Seville, St Petersburg, Rome and Baku.
The Post Office said that the stamps will mark the return of the tournament, which was postponed last year because of the pandemic, by celebrating the ’reintroduction of fans back into stadiums as well as a theme of togetherness across Europe through football’.
Named UEFA EURO 2020 after last year’s cancelled tournament, it is the first time in the competitions will be held across the continent, in 11 host cities.
The individual stamps are linked as set by a football pitch themed pathway as well as bridges, which symbolises connecting fans across Europe through football.
The stamps were designed by the Isle of Man Advertising agency.
Maxine Cannon, general manager Isle of Man Stamps & Coins, said that the Post Office was honoured to be partnered with UEFA EURO 2020â?¢ to offer an official ’stunning and vibrant stamps’, called the theme of togetherness fitting after the pandemic, and wished the home nation teams of England, Scotland and Wales the best of luck in the tournament.
The stamps will be issued on as a set, a sheet set, a presentation pack (limited to 3000), a first day dover (limited to 5000), and a premium stamp collection (limited to 1250).
