After four days of disrupted travel, the Steam Packet is now tackling a big backlog.
The company says it will be shipping some ’priority trailers’ today (Wednesday) on the aftenoon Ben-my-Chree sailing from Heysham.
The cargo ship Arrow will mop up the remainder and have Heysham port clear by Thursday early morning, if everything goes to plan.
All freight will be discharged and in Douglas by 6.30am on Thursday when the company hopes that everything will be back to normal.
From Saturday morning to last night, only one sailing went ahead.
The service was disrupted by Storm Ciara.
