Young writers have been handed more time to put their names and work forward for a prestigious national poetry competition.
The deadline for young writers and poets to put themselves forward for the position of the Manx Youth Bard has been extended right up to Wednesday, February 24, three days before the judges will announce the winning entry.
Writers up to the age of 16 are welcome.
Anyone wishing to enter the competition to be the third Manx Bard must send their poems, along with a video of themselves performing their work.
Up to three poems can be submitted and all entries will be judged by each of the five Manx Bards.
The winner will become only the third poet to be named the Manx Youth bard, and will take over from the current poet, 16-year-old Xander Shirtliff.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding the recent lockdown, the organisers are to release the results online on Saturday, February 27, with a view to hold a public ceremony later in March

The Manx Youth Bard is supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council and Culture Vannin.
