A woman who’s researching the Manx name Teare/Tear is hoping to meet people who can help her.

Sue Church plans to explore the possible connections of the Manx variants in connection with Scottish, English and Irish origins thorough both conventional research and the use of DNA testing.

She will be in the island from April 19 to 25 to carry out research and to connect with people who have either of these surnames in their family history.

Ms Church will be at the IOMFHS Library in Derby Road, Peel, on Saturday, April 20, from midday to 4.30pm and at the Manx Museum on April 24 and 25 from 10am to 5pm.
