The Met Office forecast for Wednesday: ’Dry with some sunshine at first this morning before low cloud starts to spread across the island towards midday.

’The cloud will become fairly extensive this afternoon with the best of the brightness likely across the north of the island, with the chance of some coastal mist and fog developing around the south.

’A light to moderate south to south-westerly breeze with highs of 12°C.

’Turning cloudy and misty across the island this evening and tonight, but staying dry with minimum temperature near to 5°C.’
