Bridge the Gap is working with youth services and Noble’s Hospital to improve facilities and support teens and young adults with long-term health needs.

It plans to create a ’Pod’, pictured above, within the courtyard behind A&E for youngsters with complex medical needs to relax in a homely environment with TV, games and music and outdoor seating.

Bridge the Gap has already made entertainment trolleys available for young people on adults wards.

They feature DVDs and games consoles. Cards, games and colouring books are also available on request.

There is also a youth worker who youngsters can meet at Noble’s on Mondays from 2pm to 4pm.

The charity plans to increase the times the youth worker is available.
