The Nursing and Midwifery Council has invited patients and the public to take part in a survey which may influence future nurse education.

All nurses and midwives must be registered with the council, which sets standards and a framework for training around the UK, plus the Isle of Man.

It has recently launched a full consultation regarding nursing education.

This is part of the organisation’s aim to deliver a programme of change that ensures that nurses and midwives are equipped for the future.

On the island there are currently 60 pre-registration nurses in training and around 1,000 registered nurses on the island who will have training and career development in order to keep their accreditation.

The consultation launched in June and runs until September 12. The survey runs alongside it.

If you would like to take part it can be found online at www.nmc.org.uk - from the home page use the search term ’public survey’ and you will be directed to a page which has a link to the survey.
