A new charity fun run with a difference is set to hit the island for the first time in July.

Bubble Rush involves wading through a sea of coloured bubbles which are fired out by bubble stations along the two kilometre route.

The event will take place at Mooragh Park in Ramsey on July 1 between 1pm and 4pm and is raising cash for Hospice Isle of Man and Rebecca House.

Anyone can take part with pushchairs and wheelchairs also welcome.

It costs £20 per adult to enter, or £50 for a family of two adults and two children, and each participant will receive a branded Bubble Rush T-shirt.

Once you have entered you can collect your wristband and t-shirt from Hospice Isle of Man at Scholl Wellbeing Centre, on Friday, June 23, between 9.30am and 5.30pm, or Saturday, June 24, between 9.30am and 12.30pm.

You can also download a Bubble Rush sponsorship form from the website to help raise funds for Hospice and Rebecca House or set up a Just Giving page. If you need any assistance you can call the Hospice fundraising team on 647433.

A Hospice Isle of Man spokesman said: ’We are delighted and extremely excited to launch this brand new event on the Isle of Man.

’Our course is family friendly, so you can run, jog, walk or toddle through the foam. You can even dance if you want to.

’The most important thing is that you enjoy your time in the bubbles.

’Don’t worry if you are not a runner because the course is not timed. Bubblers do it for fun with friends and children - and everyone gets a medal at the end.’

The event is being sponsored by Microgaming through their Play it Forward initiative.
