Andrew Johson, the inspector of ancient monuments at Manx National Heritage, is to give a talk about how island defended its shores between the Tudor and Victorian eras.

It will take place in the Manx Museum lecture theatre from 2.30pm on Saturday.

It has been organised by the Isle of Man Natural History and Antiquarian Society. Non-members can attend lectures in return for a donation.
