There will be the chance to find out more about one of the most enigmatic Neolithic monuments in the island.
Archeologist Andrew Johnson will hold a talk, entitled ’Silent Stones, Eloquent Witnesses’, about the Meayll Hill stone circle (above) on Monday, January 13, 2020, at the Falcon’s Nest Hotel, Port Erin from 7.30pm.
Estimated to be more than 5,000 years old, the circle, a collection of several stone burial chambers, is described as one of the island’s most distinctive ancient monuments, and has the ability to tell archeologists a great deal about how Neolithic people lived and worked.
Tickets for the talk cost £5, and are available from Calvert’s Newsagents, Port St Mary or from the Falcon’s Nest Hotel, Bridge Bookshop Isle of Man and Erin News in Port Erin.
