A host of young singers and dancers are rehearsing alongside UK musical West End actors for the latest musical show to hit the island.

Leading man Danny Becker will lead the cast in the Taylorian production of ’Singing In The Rain’, which opens at the Gaiety Theatre at the beginning of August.

Danny, who has just finished a run as understudy in the lead role of the West End production of ’Aladdin’, stars as Don Lockwood, in the in the lavish production of the musical which recalled the golden age of the days of the silent Hollywood film industry.

He appears alongside fellow UK actor Josh Barnett, who stars as ’Cosmo’, local actors Laura Pigott, who features as Kathy, and Lisa Kreisky as the starlet Lina Lamont.

Also appearing are island singing stars Jack Divers and Chris Cain.

The production is being produced by London-based director Chris Cuming, taking the helm of his third Taylorian musical, following 2017’s production of ’Joseph and His Technicolour Dreamcoat’ and last year’s stunning recreation of ’Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’, with the musical direction handled by Kevin Towse.

Tickets for the show, which opens on Monday, August 5, from 7.30pm, along with two matinee performances on Saturday, August 10 and Saturday august 17, at 2.30pm, are priced at £25, with seniors £22 and under 16s £20, available from the Villa Marina box office on 600555, or online from villagaiety.com
