A Just Giving page has been set up to cover the wedding costs of a woman with a life expectancy of five years.

Heather Crompton from Peel has created a bucket list after being diagnosed with grade three breast cancer last month.

The 30-year-old, who has stepped down from her role at the Isle of Man Bank in Ramsey, is currently 27 weeks pregnant and will have her baby delivered prematurely before receiving ’intensive chemotherapy’.

Heather’s younger brother, Gary Crompton, has created a crowdfunding page with a target of £10,000 to support his sister’s wishes. Donations have already reached more than £3,200.

’She’s been given five years to live and so she’ll live it the best she can,’ Gary explained.

’Heather’s very headstrong, not in a bad way, her stubborn attitude will get her through and it’s been very inspirational.’

He added: ’The baby will be delivered at 34 weeks to give it the best chance in life before Heather moves on to more intensive treatment.’

Heather hopes to share her bucket list experiences with her family, friends and fiancé, Sam Bridson, from Ballaugh, using donations raised by generous members of the public.

’She’s very extravagant and wants a unicorn-themed wedding,’ Gary explained.

’Instead of a car, she’ll turn up on a Segway and Sam will turn up on a horse with a unicorn horn.

On the night, there will be a bucking bronco, sumo suits, air hockey, inflatable football, a bouncy castle and a gladiator battle.’

The bucket list also includes a white Range Rover Vogue, matching tattoos and a number of international trips such as taking their baby to the delights of Lapland and Disney World.

A charity night, organised by her family, will take place in the Villa Marina, in Douglas, on Tuesday (December 19) at 7.30pm.

It will feature music from local bands, an auction and raffle.

Admission is £5, which will go towards Isle of Man Breast Care, and Noble’s Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit and the Jane Crookall maternity unit.
