A widely shared social media post has been debunked.
Isle of Man Newspapers have spoken to a member of staff at Tesco in Douglas regarding a Facebook post about an escapee tarantula.
The post stated that an orange and grey tarantula had got loose in the store.
The post said: ’The stores management have been notified.
’Cousin was taking Doris to the vets and she reckons she got out of her carry case as she was in Tescos.
’She’s heading back in an hour to keep an eye out for her.
’If you do see Doris please notify a member of staff ASAP and she is very easily startled, she has not been defanged.’
Tesco described the situation as untrue when questioned.
