This weekend, 100 riders are completing 100 laps of the TT course over a period of 100 hours.

The challenge, to raise money for a number of motorcycle based charities, began on Wednesday night at 6pm.

If all goes according to plan, the final lap will be completed at 10pm on Sunday night at the Grandstand.

The challenge has been organised by Jim Hunter, Alex Aitchson and Steve Marsh, with each rider paying £25 to take part.

All the money raised will be going towards the Romanian Road trip, Billy Redmayne Memorial Fund, the Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club, Southern 100 Supporters Club and the ACU (Isle of Man) Benevolent Fund.

The Romanian Road trip is inspired by the charity work TT legend Joey Dunlop used to carry out when he would travel to Baltic countries and deliver supplies to orphanages.

Last year Jim, along with Ian Pert and Ronnie Clucas travelled to the Syrian border to deliver supplies to refugees in the area. Jim has confirmed that the money raised will be going towards a return trip to the border refugee camps.

We will have more information on the challenge, as well as pictures of some of those who took part, in the Examiner, in shops on Tuesday.
