There will be a continental feel to a night of music and entertainment in the west of the island next week.

The Peel Centenary Centre will host an Italian night of music and food on Thursday, July 15.

The group ’Tre Gambe’ will perform a set of classic Italian folk music in the Atholl Room from 7.30pm.

’Tre Gambe’ translates as ’Three Legs’ from Italian and features mandolin player Paul Rogers, accordionist Jack Mclean and guitarist Peter Lewis.

The evening has been organised by Anna Montemurro, who runs the Busy Bee Italian language and culture group and also Busy Bee Italian Cooking.

’Our music group "Tre Gambe" has been building up a repertoire of melodies from different parts of Italy,’ said Anna.

’This is our third event in the last six months.

’At first we created a food night with music in the background, which was a success. This time the music will be the main course while we will be serving some traditional Italian appetisers and finger food.’

’Our "Taste of Italy events" is our way to bring something special, something different, something we miss everyday and we know many are missing too to the island.’

l Tickets are £12.90, available from the event Facebook page and also from etickets.im/cc
