A generator has been stolen from the enthusiasts-run Groudle Glen Railway.

Thieves struck some time between 4.30pm on Sunday October 1 and 8am last Friday.

A Honda EM4500CX generator was taken from a secure container.

Police said this is a heavy item that would have taken considerable effort to remove.

’Groudle Glen Railway is a charitable organisation and the loss of such an expensive piece of equipment will do doubt impact on them heavily, police posted on Facebook.

Anyone with information about the theft or has been recently offered a generator for sale is urged to contact Constable Adam Callister at police headquarters on 631212.

Meanwhile, police in Peel are appealing for help to trace a Pramac generator, which was stolen from a property near to Greeba Bridge between October 1 and 8.

The generator is a distinctive green colour, and is similar in size to a large suitcase.

Also taken at the same time were two large grey plastic-covered agricultural digger batteries.

If you have been offered the items for sale recently, you are asked to contact Peel police on 842208.
