The Salvation Army has launched its annual appeal for the donation of toys.

All branches of the Isle of Man Bank are acting as collection points where members of the public can donate unwrapped toys and gifts that will be sorted through, wrapped and delivered to families in time for Christmas.

This year, due to the closure of several bank branches, there will also be collection points at all Shoprite branches, and at The Entertainer toy shop in the Strand Shopping Centre.

Last year the Salvation Army provided around 2,500 donated toys.

The Salvation Army has run the Christmas Appeal for decades, to help those in need ’who might not otherwise receive gifts and to ensure that every child in the island wakes up to presents under the tree’.

It reminded people to remember babies and teenagers when they buy their gifts to donate this year.
