A care assistant from Douglas died due to asphyxia from hanging, an inquest has heard.

Lucah Michelle Perry, a 23-year-old from Douglas, was found with no signs of life at Cullyn Link in Anagh Coar where she resided.

Her body was discovered on June 23.

The inquest into her death was opened at Douglas courthouse yesterday (Wednesday) at 11.45pm.

Coroner of inquests John Needham gave family members who were present his sincere condolences for their loss.

He then adjourned the proceedings to a date to be fixed.
