The family and friends of a Manxman who died while on holiday have been paying tribute to him following his sudden death.
Fraser Vaughan, aged 27, died on December 30 while on holiday in Costa Rica.
He grew up in Laxey, playing for the village football club’s youth teams, and later attended Ramsey Grammar School and the University of Manchester and had since go on to forge a career in accountancy.
Fraser’s family said they wanted ’to thank everyone for their kind words and support at this difficult time’.
Tributes to Fraser have also come from across the Manx football community with his current club Corinthians tweeting: ’It is regrettable that the club have to bring you the tragic news of the passing of star first teamer Fraser Vaughan.
’We offer our sympathy to family and friends, all of whom have lost a special person. He will be missed by all. RIP Fraser COYW.’
One of his former clubs RYCOB, with which he wont the 15-17 league said he was ’one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet’ and ’a gifted footballer, it was a pleasure to have seen him at our club even for a brief period’.
Friends of Fraser’s who played with him have said they plan to wear black armbands and commemorate his life before the upcoming weekend’s football fixtures.
Details of the funeral will be released in due course.
