Manx Tri Club has announced that both the junior event and this month’s triathlon weekend at Ramsey have now been cancelled for 2020.
There were initial hopes that both events could be rescheduled, but the committee has decided that is no longer possible.
At present the club still hopes to stage the September Triathlon Championships but this , along with the Aquathon, are still in doubt at this time.
Entry fees for last month’s Junior Triathlon and theMay Triathlon Weekend can either be refunded or transferred to 2021 (for the junior event) or this September’s proposed championships or May Weekend Triathlon in 2021 (these will be honoured irrespective of any price increases).
All members will still receive the membership benefits until December 31, 2020 (including 2020 membership gift and subsidised kit).
Qualification for the 2021 Island Games triathlon in Guernsey is likely to be based broadly around the following: Results of Manx Tri Club September Triathlon Championships (should the races take place); evidence of time trials of individual sports (swim 1500m /bike 40km or 25-mile/run 10km) which other individual sports may be able to hold.
Isle of Man Triathlon Association intends to hold individual time trials for each sport (subject to British Triathlon approval).
