The department responsible for the TT says the issues with its new timing website have been resolved.

The new TT race timing facility was launched ahead of this year’s festival following the government’s decision not to license Duke/IOMTT, which had provided the live timings for a number of years.

The new internet service went live for the first time for Sunday’s qualifying session.

However some users reported difficulty with the website, including registering and logging into the system, and said it was not displaying up-to-date sector-by-sector times.

A spokesman for the Department for Enterprise motorsport team said that the challenge of launching the system had caused a few problems, which have now been resolved, with the timings working for Tuesday night’s qualifying sessions.

The spokesman added: ’Given the complex nature of presenting a live timing service, the service had some technical issues during the first qualifying session on Sunday, May 26, which were quickly resolved by the on event team within the first hour of the session.

’On Tuesday night the service was delivered with no further issues. Nevertheless, the new live timing service will continue to develop and receive upgrades across the 2019 Isle of Man TT Races, with a particular focus on improving the user experience and optimising the system for mobile devices.’

The new service, which is available on computers, Apple and android devices, provides lap by lap timing analysis including pit stops and sector by sector breakdowns for each rider with a leaderboard which updates as the races continue.

The DfE also said that users of the service who do not wish to receive email updates can unsubscribe from it while maintaining access to the live timings facility.
