Two more individuals have passed away as a result of Covid-19.

One person was receiving treatment for Covid-19 in Noble’s Hospital and the second death occurred in the community.

This comes after two Noble’s Hospital patients died on Sunday, August 1 and Tuesday, August 3.

This brings the total number of deaths from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic to 33.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle said: ‘I am incredibly sad to learn that two people have lost their lives because of COVID-19.

’I would like to offer my sincere condolences to their family and friends at this difficult time.’

Today there have been 86 new cases detected with 17 pending investigation. This brings the number of active cases up to 1,085. 13 people are currently in hospital with the virus and two are in ICU. Anyone with symptoms of coronavirus should immediately isolate at home and contact 111 to arrange a PCR swab test, either by phone or online.
