Those already signed up for the Winter bonus scheme scheme will get an extra £100 lump sum, and those not on it (but in receipt of income support) will get a standalone sum of £100.
Douglas South MHK Claire Christian had argued for a week adjournment so that MHKs could make more informed decision, but this was voted down.
The motion to increase prices was to allow Manx Gas to weather the global crisis of rising wholesale gas prices.
It passed in the House of Keys with 22 votes for two against.
