The Met Office is predicting that next week’s TT Races could be disrupted with some unsettled weather.

The outlook going into race week looks unpredictable and varied.

Across the bank holiday weekend starting on Friday, the morning is predicted to consist of showers but in the afternoon it will be drier. The Friday evening qualifying practice should be free of rain as sunny intervals will appear from 6pm.

As for the first race day, Saturday looks consistent with sunny spells throughout. Temperatures are predicted to reach highs of 16C.

Mad Sunday, where events such as Peel Day and the Deep South Music Festival in Port Erin are taking place around the island, looks to have a risk of showers but mainly dry. Towards the evening the possibility of rain will increase.

Monday’s race day has the potential of showers throughout the morning and afternoon, before improving towards the evening. This could cause complications for the proposed Supersport (starting at 11.45am) and Superstock (starting at 2.45pm) races on Monday.

Tuesday looks drier and less chance of rain, with temperatures predicted to reach 15C.

Racing on Wednesday has a threat of being interrupted, with showers predicted from early morning into the afternoon, however late afternoon may see sunny spells.

The rest of the week’s weather, including Friday’s Senior Race day, is unclear. However the Met Office said although the outlook isn’t dreadful over the course of race week, there’s a chance that the occasional showers throughout could cause delays to racing proceedings.
