Life assurance company Utmost International has paid £5,000 in sponsorship for the The Children’s Centre’s Race the Sun.
Race the Sun, which will be taking place on May 21, is a 100-mile race completing a lap of the Isle of Man costal footpath.
Starting at sunrise (5.05am), the race is split between a team of 10 with the aim of completing the lap before the sun sets (9.25pm).
Mike Foy, chief executive of Douglas-based Utmost, said: ’We are keen to ensure that our community work on the Isle of Man remains a key focus, so we were grateful to be presented with the opportunity from The Children’s Centre.
’The charity also has a keen focus on community and sustainability, which matches our commitment to making a positive difference in the communities in which we operate.’
Joff Whitten, head of The Children’s Centre, said that Race the Sun had : ’I love Race the Sun, it’s a wonderful event. The money raised over the years has helped so many children, young people and families. We are thrilled to have Utmost International as a sponsor this year. It means all the money raised by competitors goes directly on the work we do with children.’
